Treasury stock investment & finance definition

Stock that is authorized and issued by a company and is later bought back. Dividends are not paid on Treasury stock, and no voting rights are associated with them. A corporation can hold Treasury stock indefinitely, reissue the shares, or cancel them. Treasury stock is not related to U.S. Treasury debt.
