single stock futures investment & finance definition

An investment product that has characteristics of both securities and futures. SSFs are futures contracts that, for the first time in the United States, permit futures to be traded on single stocks or on narrow indices. Because these are hybrid products, both the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulate them.
