A fund that is structured so that repayments can be used
to make more loans. The term is used interchangeably with a Community Develop-
ment Loan Fund, which is a non-profit loan fund that receives public money and
gives loans for housing and small business needs. However, revolving-loan funds
have a much wider scope than the Community Development Loan Fund, and may fund
larger-scale community development projects. A revolving-loan fund can be
administered by a non-profit organization or a public agency, and is not overseen
by any regulatory agency.
