that a company takes in from the sale of goods and services. On the balance sheet,
revenues increase assets and stockholders’ equity. The cost of expenses is
subtracted from total revenue to calculate net
income. The term sales may
be used interchangeably on a company’s net income statement as another word for
revenue.
