plus (+) investment & finance definition

  1. Used in the net change column of security transaction tables to indicate a closing price higher than the closing price on the last previous day on which the security was traded.
  2. Used in reporting closed-end investment company share prices to indicate the percentage amount by which market price exceeds net asset value. Compare minus 2.
  3. An addition of one sixty-fourth either to the bid or to the ask price for a government bond. Government securities are usually quoted in thirty-seconds of a dollar; therefore, a quote of $91.03+ indicates a price of $91 3/32 + 1/64 , or $91 7/64 .
