founder of computer company Hewlett-Packard Inc., along with William Hewlett.
The company began in 1939 by filling niche demand for technology-based
equipment, which the two constructed in Packard’s garage. Their first product

Hewlett when he was in graduate school. After that, the company moved into
computer equipment, such as printers, as well as other accessories and
products.
