The
chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, as of this printing,
appointed by President George W. Bush in February, 2003. He was a co-founder in
1959 of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, an investment bank that was purchased
by Credit Suisse First Boston in 2001. He was a founder of Yale University’s
Graduate School of Management, served as its first dean, and held a tenured
chair there from 1975 to 1980.
