currency futures investment & finance definition
Exchange-listed
currency futures contracts that can be bought and sold. Currency futures are
traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s Inter-national Monetary Market
(IMM) division. They also trade on other smaller U.S. exchanges and on the
Singapore Inter-national Monetary Exchange (SIMEX).

A contract for the future delivery of a specified amount of a major currency. Currency futures were developed in response to the substantial volatility of currency trading rates that occurred following the 1971 shift from fixed to flexible currency exchange rates.
