Congressional Budget Office investment & finance definition

The U.S. government agency that reports to Congress on matters dealing with the federal budget. The office makes projections about the budget surplus or deficit along with what effect various spending or tax proposals will have on the budget. The CBO is set up to be nonpartisan. It reports its calculations twice a year to the House and Senate Budget committees.
