A quarterly report that is closely followed by cocoa
traders and others in the industry. It is produced by the Chocolate
Manufacturers Association of the U.S.A. and the New York Board of Trade. It typically
comes out about a month after the end of the previous quarter. It measures the
amount of cocoa beans that have been ground, melted into chocolate liquor, and
melted into cocoa butter. About a dozen chocolate processors contribute their
data to the report.
